Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: “There’s going to be more complications, more heartache, more trauma – it’s a brilliant summer coming up.

“And I know there’s something massive coming around our anniversary time in October as well. We have to follow up with last year with something as big this year.”

Viewers will know that Pargeter’s character Chas is currently unaware that she’s dating a murderer.

Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) has already claimed two victims and he is rumoured to kill a third later on this year.

                          Emmerdale Chas dingle Spoilers

May 21st Chas asks Gennie to help Cameron with the fundraiser, worried that he has taken on too much when he is struggling with his depression

May 22nd Dr Abbott appears clueless when Chas thanks her for all that she has done for Cameron. Chas picks up on this and wonders if there is there more to it than doctor-patient confidentiality. Later, people begin to wonder where Cameron is when they cannot find or get hold of him. Gennie confirms to Chas that she thinks he is hiding something, and Chas fears that he may be having an affair after all.

May 23rd Chas is perplexed over where Cameron could be and keeps trying to call him. Suspecting the worst and aided by Gennie, she begins rifling for evidence.
no-one at the fundraiser can believe that ‘organiser’ Cameron hasn’t turned up. As the raffle money and donations roll in for Brenda’s hospital fund, Chas and Gennie continue to root through the back room to find evidence to nail Cameron’s cheating once and for all. With Gennie’s support, Chas has decided the time has come for her to end her relationship with Cameron, as he has messed her around too many times. She tells Gennie to help her pack his stuff as she can’t face doing it on her own.

May 24th Chas has removed her engagement ring, unable to stomach that Cameron did not even come home last night. However, the police soon telephone The Woolpack to explain about the accident. Chas and Gennie rush to Cameron’s hospital bedside to see him. Will Chas forgive Cameron?

Emmerdale’s Lucy: ‘Cameron could kill Chas’

image

Lucy Pargeter tells Soaplife that Chas is getting suspicious about Cameron in Emmerdale. But what exactly is it she thinks he has done?

Why is Chas suddenly worried about Cameron’s behaviour?
“He starts disappearing, he says he’s going places and then it turns out he’s not there, he doesn’t come back when he says he will, he’s sharp with her… He’s just not his usual self. Chas loves him and is concerned that he’s so bad-tempered and moody.”

She thinks he’s having an affair, doesn’t she?
“Yes, but it’s Gennie who puts that idea into her head. Then he arranges a spa night for them and says he’ll take care of the pub. But Gennie and Chas see him driving out of the village and they’re convinced he’s up to no good.”

He’s actually trying to move Alex’s body! And because he’s nearly caught he decides he has to leave the village…
“Chas’s immediate reaction is that Cameron’s leaving because suddenly she’s started to doubt him and pressure him. She thinks, ‘I’ve pushed him too far but he’s obviously going through something very serious that is making him not be himself’. She thinks she’s pushed him over the edge.”

It looks like Cameron’s about to confess all - killing Carl, killing Alex - but Gennie walks in…
“And Gennie’s appearance completely scuppers that. Chas and Cameron end up having a bit of an argument and he loses the plot again, so Chas goes to stay with Gennie. When Chas returns in the morning she tells him she knows he has something he wants to tell her.”

And he tells her he’s suffering from depression! Does she believe him?
“She doesn’t particularly doubt him but, then again, she’s desperate for any explanation for his weird behaviour. It’s much easier for her to accept he might be depressed, rather than that he’s having an affair.”

If Cameron confessed his murders to Chas, should she fear for her life?
“Yes. I think he’s capable of of killing anyone - and that includes Chas.

“I think Cameron is capable of killing Chas!”

As the Dales Killer story takes a new turn, Lucy Pargeter fears for the life of her unsuspecting, alter ego,

It’s fair to say that falling in love with killer Cameron has ruined the life of Chas Dingle and she doesn’t even know the half of it yet! Poor Chas has sacrificed both family and stability for a man who’s spinning a web of sinister lies around thier new life together. So we’re glad that Chas who is no fool, has started to see the cracks in Camerons facade as he scrabbles to keep his murderous secrets hidden.

But how on earth will Chas cope when she does find out she’s shacked up with the most dangerous man in Dales? “I honestly don’t know how she’ll deal with it” says Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas. “He’s killed, and let her belive she is a killer. They’re both massive things. Let’s just wait and see what the writers decide.”

So far, Cameron has murdered Carl King and Alex Moss and we’re convinced his reign of terror is far from over. Cam’s big problem at the moment is that Declan is redeveloping the woodland where Alex is buried. But after failing to move the body Cameron returns home to Chas and makes it clear that he’s going to leave her. “Chas think’s she’s pushed Cam too far,” explains Lucy. she’s suspected he’s been having an affair with someone else, and recently followed him. Now he’s had enough Chas knows Cameron is going through something and that he’s not himself but she belives she’s the one who’s pushed him over the edge.” “I think Cameron is going to tell Chas what’s happended”

What Chas doesn’t realise is that Cameron thinks his luck has run out. Having failed to shift Alex he’s planning to leg it to avoid being sent down for murder.  But as he and Chas talk there’s an intriguing twist when it looks as if Cameron is about to confess all…. “Gennie walks in and completely scuppers that” laughs Lucy. I think Cam is possibly going to tell Chas what happended but when Gennie turns up he loses the plot and they have a big argument. Chas goes to stay with Gennie, and next day Cam clams up again” How quickly things change in the Dales though. To his surprise Cameron is thrown a lifeline when Declan is made to wait for planning permission for his development, and the murderer seizes the chance to sort out his situation. However Cam still needs to silence Chas suspicions so he tells her he’s suffering from depression. “The idea of him being depressed is far easier for Cas to acceot than the diea he’s having an affair” Shares Lucy. “She doesn’t doubt him so when he threatens Gennie like he does. She puts it down to depression. Everyone will be shouting at their tellies

Does Cameron still love Chas?

“Absolutely. If Cameron could confess to anyone, it would be Chas. That’s his biggest guilt - that he can’t be truly happy with Chas until he’s honest with her.

“Their whole relationship is a lie, because he’s still in the woods - both literally and theoretically. At some point, Cameron would like to confess to Chas if he thinks that their relationship would survive that.”

Is their relationship more fragile at the moment?

“Yeah, because Cameron’s stresses start having an impact on the relationship. It’s causing a strain.”

Do you think Chas has any idea now of what Cameron is capable of?

“No! She has caught glimpses of it when he was about to attack Cain, so she knows that he’s got quite a hefty temper. But I think Chas quite likes that!”

Is Cameron also concerned about Debbie’s extreme behaviour?

“Yeah - Cameron may have had this war with Debbie, but he’s still got an affection for her. He was absolutely devastated when they broke up, because he’d made the decision that he was going to be with Debbie rather than Chas at that point.

What is Cameron’s initial reaction when he finds out that the land where Alex is buried has been bought?

Initially Cameron wants to get out there and find out what’s going on straight away, but he keeps being delayed by Chas, who wants to spend time with him. The more the stress builds up for Cameron, the more things stand in his way.
